My poor sis began feeling the high altitude sickness on the very first day there. A very nice condo, even if it was a bit small for 5 Poor sis
Apparently our friends keep a Christmas tree up year round :D The balcony view was beautiful!
Everyone chillin' after a plane ride and drive up from Denver. I forgot to take pics of the upstairs but it was just two bedrooms. Keith and I were given the master suite b/c well...we're leet. Taking a photo moment on a trek up the mountain. This is what sky slopes look like without all the snow
Motorcycles getting a ride up and down the mountain The town of Frisco, Colorado! Our first shopping stop :D This little place was considered for dinner until we saw that we'd be paying $20-$30 a pop. Sheesh. A nice little dive called Moose Jaw was chosen instead and they gave us DELISH cheeseburgers for a lot less :D
Frisco was a really cute town

For some reason I kept calling it Fresco XD Frisco I found this to be an interesting sculpture...

Who wins! The kid or the bear!? OMG! :D
Keith and I saw this mural and at the same time we both go, "It's pixelated!" I've never seen a pixelated mural before. Very cool. A really old stove Inside an old church they made a set up of a school house which I found interesting. I've only seen this in old movies like Little House on the Prairie :D
After a day of exploring Dillion and Frisco, the computers must be touched! This condo featured surprisingly fast internet connection. Some precariously perched lake houses. I found the triangular one pretty interesting but I'd be nervous that any minute it would fall into the lake. Painted rocks! :D
On Day 3 we went into the town of Leadville and took a train ride around the mountain. I loved the jacket weather and you could either sit in a covered car or a open-air car. The Leadville Colorado & Southern
Around the bend we go! The air was incredibly clear The view was amazing! Even managed to get the moon!
Classic Maria shot! Going around the old water tower. The French Gulch water tank. Elevation: 10, 840 ft
They stopped the train here and let us wander around. It used to hold 47, 500 gals of water.
Like good tourists, we got a shot a the picture rock. A great view! The little white line is the highway we came in on to Leadville.
I was particularly fascinated with the shadows cast by clouds. Snow! On the downhill side of train, we noticed this little dirt road. Not sure where it lead to.
The train tracks stopped a little ways from this old mine. Here the train went in reverse and back to the station. The conductor comes around and looks at our tickets. Totally felt Polar Express! :D We spent some time on an open car on the way back
A colorful little pool Keith spotted Every now and then we'd pass a big stack of old timbers that were used on the track way back when This tree fascinated me for two reasons: One b/c it had soooo many pine cones on it! Two, b/c the pine cones looked sort of like...well...poopies.
There was sagebrush everywhere! Back at the station most of us run to the bathroom. The bathroom on the train proved too challenging with all the bumpity bumps going on.
On the way back from Leadville
After the train ride we drove around Leadville and I loved some the houses I saw. There were some really colorful houses with pretty trim.
This house just plain rocked!
Mad Hatter Antiques...totally awesome! I love how this house made me think cotton candy :D After poking around town we drove up to an old mine site.
I thought it was kinda gross how all the rocks had all been discolored by whatever was in the water.
A pretty view
Leadville is loved! :D On the way back from Leadville we stop for lunch and a ride up a ski lift. Hehe, the mommies in their mommy hats.
Going up! There was still a little snow on the ground :D I went up with Maria and Mom by ourselves. Elaine opted not to swing around on a rickety seat way above the ground. For someone who's afraid of heights, this would have really freaked them out. I loved it!
A map of all the possble ski slopes. Best trail name ever!
At the top of the ski lift we wandered around a bit. Going down! I don't remember the name of the little resort area we stopped at but it was pretty nice.
A road cone gets a ride too! Besides the ski lift, this resort area had restaurants, shops, put-put golf, go carts, and some crazy kind of bouncy ride for kids.
We attend the local Dillion Friday market. It had mostly food vendors and little local arts and crafts. Maria and I each tried some Brazilian candy..twas super nasty! Very gross. I waited until we had stepped away from the lady's stand before spitting my piece out. Walking around Lake Dillion Maria reports that the water is pretty damn cold
Keith wins the skipping stone contest...Maria and I got 3 skips in max. I only managed to count 6 skips on Keith's throw...it was probably more like 20!
An real pretty old blue house in Breckenridge that was being relocated. In Breckenridge there was a huge art festival going on. It was full of very unique pieces and I of course wanted to buy something for almost every stand we came too.
These pieces were gorgeous...and super expensive. One small blanket was almost $400, ouch!
Breckenridge, CO I real pretty bunch of flowers! We had burgers for lunch but I wish I'd spotted this place first!
Cute donkeys! Breckenridge had it's own little river walk.
An afternoon T-storm rolled in and we hustled back to the car. In my new niffty hat! :D I found this combination of colors really nice

Description: For the last family vacation of the summer, Keith and his mother joined me and mine on a really fun trip to Keystone Colorado. Actually the town we stayed in was Dillion but Keystone was right nextdoor. We stayed at a family friend's condo for the week and although a little cramped for five people it was a lot of fun. The temperature was WONDERFUL the whole time! On some the mountain peaks it was only in the 50's and I got to wear pants and 2 coats!! I LOVE COLD WEATHER! :D
Location: Colorado
