The Thompson home from the air! The view from the guest room. May 2007
A very comfy bed! The guest room was great with a private bathroom with a shower and the balacony view was perfect! It was great seeing the pool table back in action. I haven't seen this beauty since they left the Apex house back in 2006. The first floor consisted of a nice big entertainment area with the pool table, a bar, and several bedrooms.
Yay, Wrong Way sign!!! This is the sign that was on their driveway in Apex. I am all kinds in love with the flooring in this house. Heaven to the foots! :D The hallway before walls! May 2007
First floor hallway leading to bedrooms. The second floor was where Dean and Camille's bedroom was and a beautiful kitchen and livingroom set up. The table is one of Dean's creations created from wood left over at the Apex house. Camille digging through her awesome fridge. This is the kinda I want in my future home.
View from the balcony
Holton and Boone arrive! Dean and Sherm Worm go out to greet Ru and Boone Boone was looking a little hung over.
Poor Dean is so blind he has to wear two pairs of glasses. One pair to find the other pair! *snort* ;-) JAZZ HANDS!!! I'm thinking Ru should wear these specs all the time! :D
Camille made homemade pizza the first night and it was delish! The kitchen and dining area May 2007
Pizzas getting ready to go into the oven Yay so the cookie dough tub was kinda holding up the beer shelf and Holton and I didn't realize this until we removed the tub and the shelf totally buckled. We quickly wedged the tub back under it and then spent a few minutes pondering how to retreive the cookie dough safely. We prevailed :)
This guy was flying around one night and he ran into me. I tried to beat his brains out with a dish towel. The next morning though, he was gone! The first time I visited, the house was still very much under construction. May 2007
I loved looking out and seeing a tactor putting up the road. There were also lots of golf carts out and about.
Ru repainting the fingernails. This poor little guy and his buddy both face planted into the doors one morning. The other bird recovered real quick and flew off but this guy gave himself a nice concussion. We put him on the edge of the deck and slowly he recovered. He was out cold for a while though. The Insect recovered from our run in and he attached himself to the family photo. He kinda looked like he was part of the frame at first but then he moved.
The house from the front yard. Heading down to the marina for a boat ride to a beach picnic Sherman escorted us.
Sherman is a shameless flirt! Definitely the block mascot.
Camille's sister and her husband came over from Figure Eight Island to give us a boat ride. Heading out!
The marina we stopped at for gas.
Fancy boat. I love the little shallow areas where you could just sit in the water on a chair.
This looked like a very nifty business idea. Probably wracked in a mint during the summer months. This guy had to retrieve a floaty that the kids let get away.
An abandoned beach house that had been through some bad hurricanes.
The sand where we parked the boat was a lot softer than it looked. I sank in at least 4 inches. It was awesome!
Holton and Camille chilling by the boat with Camille's sister Carolyn and her husband Jim. I was having a lot of fun making foot prints in the sand :D
Boone decided to replant some sea grass.
This cracked me up! A dude just floating along in his little inner tube, shades down and beer in hand. Oh yea! From the channel during my first boat ride with their friends Julie and Edward. May 2007 The Thompson home from the channel.
Boat do! Sherman greeted us on our return to the marina. Don't mess with a pre-coffee Ru!
The island out in the channel was packed on July 4th morning.
Such an awesome view! Sherman had to put his clothes on for a beach trip. The private beach for the community of Figure Eight Island where Holton's aunt lives. The last sight my poor cell phone saw before I accidentally took him swimming.
Short umbrella. Sherman goes to the beach! This looked like mad fun!
Boone was looking a little pink there Sherman was a big baby when Camille would leave him and go into the water.
Sherman's happiest with the Mama. Sherman goes swimming...
and disappears promptly beneath the waves! His head floats! These guys caught a small stingray down the beach from us. I was sooo glad a stingray was close enough for them to catch and that I was swimming around in his territory! XD
These little squirt pipes look like fun. I've seen them used on Wipeout :D

Description: For this year's Independence Day weekend, I went down to Hampstead, NC to visit Holton's parents. According to google maps they live right in front of Howard's Channel, at the north end of Topsail Island. I haven't been to their beach house since it was in the process of being buit and it was but a frame. It is now a gorgeous home! I enjoyed an awesome visit with Holton, Boone, Dean, and Camille. Great weather, great compnay! Oh and I drown my phone XD
